The Department of Mathematics in the College of Natural and Applied Sciences at Missouri State University seeks a tenure-track (9-month) Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will have a well-defined research program in applied mathematics, be able to complement a new program in Data Science, be committed to innovative teaching, and have post-doctoral experience.

Duties: The teaching of mathematics courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level; curriculum development; engaging in research leading to peer-reviewed publications; supervising student research/projects; service to the Department of Mathematics, College of Natural and Applied Science, Missouri State University, and the local/regional community and the profession.



Requirements

Applicants must have (or anticipate completion by August 2024) a doctoral degree in applied mathematics or mathematics with an emphasis in Data Science. Applicants must exhibit strong potential for research, evidence of excellence in teaching, a commitment to service and professional activities, and effective oral and written communication skills. Applicants must also demonstrate a desire and ability to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds and this needs to be indicated in the letter of application.

 Employment will require a criminal background check at University expense and submission of official transcripts.
